Believe in Yourself

It is always important, I believe, to God that we believe in ourselves and in what we are doing. There have been times in my life when I questioned things I should never have questioned. I let others—and the enemy—plant seeds of self-doubt, disbelief, and fear. Those moments pulled me away from the truth of who I am in Christ.

But God’s Word reminds us of something greater: we are created in His image. This is truth, and He does not create mistakes. If He has called you to do something, then by His Spirit there is nothing you cannot accomplish. The enemy may try to whisper lies that you are not good enough, strong enough, or wise enough—but those are not God’s words. God speaks life, not condemnation.

When you and I start to see ourselves through God’s eyes, everything changes. He sees us as chosen, redeemed, equipped, and loved. Scripture reminds us that “we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37). That means when He calls you to walk in a certain direction, you can walk with confidence, not because of your own strength, but because of His.

Caring for Yourself in the Journey

As we go through each day, it is important that while we give and do for others, we also take time to care for ourselves. You cannot pour from an empty cup. Neglecting your spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being eventually leaves you drained and unable to serve others well.

Building yourself up is not selfish—it is biblical. Even Jesus took time away to pray, rest, and be with His Father. If the Son of God saw the value in retreating to strengthen His spirit, how much more should we?

Practical ways to encourage yourself include:

  • Talking with God honestly about your struggles and hopes.

  • Reading Scripture daily to remind yourself of His promises.

  • Praying and listening for His voice above the noise of the world.

  • Connecting with encouragers—those who see what God is doing in your life and remind you of your worth when you forget.

This rhythm of refreshing yourself is not only wise—it is pleasing to God.

God’s Intention for You

From the very beginning, God gave intentional thought to us and to what He designed each of us to do. He crafted us with care, down to the smallest detail, and placed us in specific seasons and roles for a reason. You are not an accident. Your life is not random. God created you with purpose, and He equips you to walk in that purpose each day.

“Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’”(Genesis 1:26)

When we understand that God’s fingerprints are all over our lives, we begin to walk differently. We no longer compare ourselves to others or shrink back in fear. Instead, we step into what He has set before us, knowing that if He designed us for it, He will also sustain us in it.

Something to Consider

I leave you with this thought to reflect on: “God is as Vast and Infinite as we each are and how He has created each of us…”

You are part of His infinite design, created with intentionality, value, and purpose. Every detail of your life is known by Him, and every step you take matters to Him.

Love, Blessings & Shalom,

Michael

Scriptures for Reflection

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”—Philippians 4:13

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”—Ephesians 2:10

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for creating us in Your image and for giving us each a unique purpose. Help us to see ourselves as You see us—fearfully and wonderfully made. Strengthen our faith when doubt tries to creep in and remind us that we are not walking in our own power, but in Yours. Teach us to rest in Your presence, to encourage ourselves daily in Your Word, and to boldly pursue the calling You have placed upon us. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
